Mumbai police have formed 15 specialised teams to investigate the shooting that targeted Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff and to track down the assailants according to Deputy Commissioner of Police Mohit Garg. The incident occurred around 7pm near Pushpa Narsee Park in the Juhu area as Shroff was leaving after playing football and attending a private event. Garg stated that Shroff sustained no gunshot injuries and remains safe while confirming that two other individuals were hurt and hospitalised.

Shroff’s driver Firdaus suffered a bullet injury to his left hand and is undergoing treatment at Nanavati Hospital where doctors have indicated he may require surgery a hospital official told reporters. A bystander identified as Umesh Chavan or Chauhan sustained a chest wound and was admitted to Cooper Hospital where he was reported stable. CCTV footage examined by police captured images of the two shooters and showed the motorcycle used in the attack being abandoned near Andheri West railway station The Indian Express reported.[[1]](https://indianexpress.com/article/cities/mumbai/tiger-shroff-firing-cctv-images-of-alleged-shooters-emerge-gangster-anil-pandit-10927242/)

Three men arrived on the motorcycle with two opening fire and a third waiting to drive the getaway vehicle India Today reported with between five and seven rounds discharged at Shroff’s BMW. Police suspect the attackers were familiar with Shroff’s regular Sunday football routine at the park and may have conducted prior reconnaissance before waiting for him to emerge. A forensic team visited the scene to collect evidence while one person has been detained for questioning in the nearby Santacruz area though no direct arrests have been made.

A social media post and voice note attributed to Anil Pandit and Harman Sandhu claiming ties to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang asserted responsibility for the attack alleging it served as a warning over Shroff’s associations with Salman Khan. Mumbai police are examining the authenticity of the claim which has not been independently verified according to multiple outlets covering the investigation. The development adds to a pattern of incidents involving Bollywood figures including previous attacks linked to the same gang on Salman Khan’s residence and other personalities.

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde visited Shroff at his residence and told reporters that the government would not spare anyone threatening the film industry while stressing the need to respond firmly to such acts. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis directed the police commissioner to expedite the probe and ensure swift action against those responsible a government statement indicated. The All Indian Cine Workers Association issued a statement expressing shock at the firing and calling for enhanced security for those in the film sector citing repeated failures to prevent such attacks.

Investigators are reviewing footage along the escape route toward SV Road and from nearby railway stations to determine if the suspects boarded public transport after ditching the vehicle. Jackie Shroff’s team confirmed to India Today that the actor was unharmed stating simply “Tiger is okay.” The case is likely to be transferred to the Mumbai Crime Branch for a deeper probe into potential gang connections and motives.
