Lusail International Circuit has revived its F1 Family Friday program for the upcoming Formula 1 Qatar Airways Qatar Grand Prix, the venue operator said in an announcement distributed by Qatar News Agency. The initiative applies to the event scheduled for November 27 to 29, 2026, and centers on the opening Friday when families can attend together at reduced cost. According to the circuit, the move supports broader goals of community engagement by lowering barriers to world-class motorsport.
The family promotion offers one adult general admission ticket at QR200, with up to four children under age 12 admitted free when accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, Lusail International Circuit stated. Those complimentary child tickets must be reserved in advance through the official online platform to ensure entry. The circuit added that this structure has proven effective in past editions for drawing larger and more diverse crowds to the venue north of Doha.
Attendees on November 27 will gain access to the Formula 1 free practice sessions where leading drivers test setups ahead of the weekend’s sprint and grand prix, the announcement noted. Ticket holders also receive entry to an expanded Fan Zone that includes the F1 Fan Forum, cultural displays, a children’s play area, interactive simulators, live shows, food and beverage outlets, merchandise stalls, and family-oriented activities. Free round-trip shuttle buses from Lusail QNB Metro Station and on-site parking form part of the general admission package.
Lusail International Circuit figures from the 2025 Qatar Grand Prix placed total weekend attendance at a record 162,972, with the family day contributing to strong early turnout. That prior event featured similar free child entry on Friday alongside support races in Formula 2 and Porsche Carrera Cup Middle East. The 2026 calendar positions the grand prix as the penultimate round under new technical regulations, according to Formula 1 schedules.
The circuit has hosted the Qatar Grand Prix annually since 2021 under a long-term agreement, building on its established role in both Formula 1 and MotoGP calendars. In 2025 the family offering coincided with evening concerts and interactive installations that extended the experience beyond on-track action. Demand for 2026 tickets has already prompted sell-outs in certain hospitality categories, Lusail International Circuit reported earlier this month.
General admission options provide views from Lusail Hill while grandstand tickets cover fixed seating around the 5.4-kilometre track layout. The venue operator continues to coordinate with Qatar Rail for enhanced metro services during race weekend to manage expected visitor numbers from across the region. Similar family promotions have operated successfully at other Formula 1 venues but remain a highlight of the Qatar event.
