Qatar News Agency reported that Paris Saint-Germain completed the transfer of Ferran Torres from Barcelona on Friday as the French club moves to strengthen its forward line ahead of the new season. The 26-year-old Spain international has signed a contract running until June 2031 and will take the number nine jersey. A report by The Athletic placed the transfer fee in the region of 50 million euros while Transfermarkt listed his market value near 55 million euros at the time of the move.
Torres joined Barcelona from Manchester City in January 2022 and made 207 appearances for the club, scoring 65 goals with 23 assists according to club records. He contributed to three La Liga titles along with victories in the Copa del Rey and Spanish Super Cup during his time in Catalonia. The forward featured 49 times across all competitions last season, registering 21 goals as Barcelona secured back-to-back domestic titles.
The Spain international began his professional career at Valencia where he recorded nine goals in 97 appearances before moving to Manchester City in 2020. Torres scored 16 goals in 43 matches for the English side prior to his switch to Barcelona. His versatility as a centre-forward, right winger or left winger has made him a consistent performer at both club and international level.
Torres rose to prominence on the international stage by scoring the winning goal for Spain in the 2026 World Cup final against Argentina. The striker arrived at the tournament with his club future uncertain after Barcelona opted against offering a contract extension beyond 2027.
