The three-day event organized by Dubai CommerCity under the patronage of Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum featured more than 150 speakers addressing artificial intelligence, fintech, logistics and payment solutions according to the Qatar News Agency. Discussions focused on strengthening market connectivity and supporting the transition to an integrated digital economy aligned with Dubai’s broader development goals.
The Qatar News Agency reported that talks throughout the opening days reflected the accelerating impact of emerging technologies in reshaping global trade ecosystems. HE Dr. Al Zarooni stated that the discussions revealed how artificial intelligence, fintech, advanced logistics and next-generation payment solutions strengthen market connectivity. The forum sought to create business opportunities, foster partnerships and promote knowledge exchange among government entities, institutions and private companies from across the world. This edition built on the inaugural event which drew more than 5,000 participants from over 40 countries according to the WORLDEF official platform.
Organizers indicated that more than 150 companies and 120 retail brands participated in the gathering that concluded the following day. Sessions covered policy issues, e-commerce trends, payment systems, artificial intelligence applications and building trust in digital transactions. Speaker Nart emphasized that the event would tackle these topics to drive industry growth and efficiency in cross-border commerce. The program aligned with the Dubai Economic Agenda D33 that aims to position the emirate as a global hub for digital trade.
Industry projections cited at the forum placed global retail e-commerce volume near $7 trillion in 2026 with participants noting that e-commerce has become a primary driver of international trade. The WORLDEF platform founded in 2016 and based in Dubai works to accelerate cross-border e-commerce throughout the MENA region, Turkey and additional markets. It connects marketplaces, brands, investors and institutions through forums that facilitate dialogue on sustainable digital economy expansion. One organizer described the event as a meeting of ideas that treats digital trade as the present rather than a future concept.
Dubai CommerCity said in statements that hosting WORLDEF Dubai 2026 for the second consecutive year reaffirms the emirate’s role in leading digital commerce transformation. The authority highlighted strategic initiatives announced during the forum that support a future-ready economic model through innovation and international partnerships. Attendance significantly exceeded the prior year’s figures demonstrating growing interest in such platforms for trade collaboration. Panels also addressed how digital solutions can mitigate disruptions from factors such as tariffs and competition for resources.
Business leaders participating in the event pointed to expectations that four in five anticipate lasting trade shifts due to artificial intelligence and related developments. The forum included contributions from leading international organizations focused on logistics efficiency and supply chain resilience. Discussions underscored the importance of cooperation to unlock opportunities in remote areas and underserved sectors. Data presented showed the event expanded its reach with participants representing diverse geographies and industry verticals.
