Qatar News Agency reported that Olympic Council of Asia President Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani presided over the medal ceremony for the equestrian team jumping event at the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games. Saudi Arabia claimed the gold medal after delivering a faultless performance across both rounds of the final held at JRA Equestrian Park. The United Arab Emirates secured silver with a total of four faults while Japan earned bronze on the same penalty count but with a slower aggregate time according to results published by event organizers.

The Dubai 92 radio station stated that the UAE team improved on its bronze medal from the previous Asian Games in Hangzhou. Sheikha Latifah Bint Ahmed Al Maktoum, Humaid Abdulla Khalifa Al Muhairi, Abdullah Humaid Al Muhairi and Omar Abdul Aziz Al Marzooqi formed the silver-medal squad. Team members told local media they had targeted gold but took satisfaction from the collective display that demonstrated the depth of regional talent.

The Olympic Council of Asia noted that Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani has participated in several medal presentations throughout the multi-sport event that opened on September 19 and runs through October 4. Equestrian competitions have taken place entirely in Tokyo even as other disciplines are staged in Aichi and Nagoya prefectures. This centralization has allowed for consistent conditions at the dedicated JRA venue.

Horsesport.com reported that China secured its first team dressage gold on September 27 with a score of 208.148 points ahead of South Korea and host Japan. Thailand had earlier captured eventing team gold on September 24 by overcoming an overnight deficit during the cross-country phase. These outcomes across disciplines illustrate the broadening competitive balance in Asian equestrian sport according to the International Equestrian Federation.

FEI technical handbooks for the Games specify that team jumping involves four riders per squad with the best three scores counting toward the total. Saudi Arabia’s gold-medal team featured established competitors including Ramzy Hamad Al Duhami, Abdullah W. Al Sharbatli and Khaled Abdulaziz Al Eid. The victory continues a pattern of strong Gulf performances in the jumping format at continental level.

The Olympic Council of Asia has indicated that more than a dozen nations entered the jumping team competition at these Games. Individual jumping events are scheduled to follow with finals set for the coming days and additional medals to be awarded. Organizers expect the remaining program to maintain the high standard observed in the team contest.
